About Me

I have been playing WoW for about 4 years. I actually started playing roughly 5 years ago but took a year break after the first year. I have never been much of a gamer and WoW is pretty much my first actual video game. I had occasionally played games while at friends' houses. I started playing WoW to join a friend in the game. When the friend quit, so did I. Move forward a year and I found myself stuck at home for a bit and out of books to read. I was at the book store ready to purchase three new books before going to see a movie and I looked over to see Wrath for sale. It occurred to me that I was about to spend roughly $100 that I really didn't have to spend. I then considered that $15 dollars a month it would cost me to pick WoW back up. If I only played for two hours a month then I would be spending the same amount I would spend on seeing a movie. I reluctantly set down the books and picked up the expansion pack. I figured, as far as entertainment goes, it was fairly cheap.

I started gold making after I stumbled upon The Undermine Journal one day in December 2012. I was elated to find a ready made list of flippable items. I casually sold crafted items on the auction house but very intermittently. MoP has given me this feeling of moving too fast and at the same time it has made me feel as if I don't have enough time. My main toon blasted fervently through the content and gobbled up dailies, raids, and the legendary quest grind. Unfortunately, all of my alts were left in the dust. Once I had gobbled up a significant amount on my main I was quite burnt out. The idea of leveling alts and doing it all over made me feel a bit disenchanted with the game. So I was quite happy to try out a completely different aspect of the game. Gold making gave me a renewed sense of interest. I started by flipping the items from the Undermine but quickly became overwhelmed with so much stuff. I was just about to throw my hands up in the air when I noticed a blog post on the front page of the undermine addressing the issue of batch posting. It was at this point I was introduced to TradeSkillMaster. I have been a whirlwind of reading and experimenting ever since.

My favorite part of the gold making community is how open and willing to share it is but at the same time it appears so elusive and mysterious from the outside. It's like that new dessert that has a bunch of ingredients you have never heard of. It seems so strange and you can't even imagine the taste but once you sink your teeth in it is rich, flavorful and intoxicating.

This brings me to my blog. This is my first blog ever. I wasn't even really sure what exactly a blog was or how it worked. I had a general idea from reading a few but I had never considered the actual process. I decided to write a blog for two reasons. First, I have a friend that I currently play WoW with and I know I must sound a bit loony blathering on about this stuff all the time. I thought it would be nice to have something that starts out very simple so that anyone could at least dabble a bit in goldmaking. Second, I really wanted to organize all of the things I had learned or discovered so that I could look back at the information and I would know where to find it. I am bad at remembering things and worse at remembering where I learned them. Ironically, writing this blog has cause my ability to remember things to become better and more organized.

My current goal is to be helpful for those new to the process. There are so many really amazing blogs for the medium and advanced gold maker. I want to help out the very new and confused gold maker. I am very much still very new and confused myself. If I can do it then anyone can. I am proof that you don't have to be significantly clever to make a bit of gold in WoW! I don't cash in at a massive amount per week but I have managed to build a nice little bit over a few months. I started with 50k saved from various things and have made it to 500k at the time of starting this blog. It was this benchmark that made decide to see if I could be helpful in the blogging community.

Allons-y,
TradePrincess
